Richard D. Hayes

A lifelong servant of the people. A leader for the future.

Excellence in Everything. That is the promise of the Liberty County School System, and it is also a personal standard that I strive to achieve in all that I do. As a husband and father of three, my love of family influenced me to transition from an active duty military career and eventually settle in the city of Hinesville. The Hayes Family embraced the historic family-friendly nature of the area and has become an important part of the fabric of this community. Beyond my work for the Department of Defense as an Air Traffic Controller, I am also involved in the community as a member of the Liberty County High School Parent Involvement Group, United Way of the Coastal Empire, Coastal Regional Commission, Liberty County United Ministerial Alliance, and as pastor of the New Day Community Church, among other roles.

My desire to take care of our teachers, students, and parents first led me to ask for your consideration as Chairperson for the Liberty County Board of Education. I am uniquely qualified, as I have experience as an involved parent, soldier, community leader, and scholar. My educational background includes a Business Administration degree, but more importantly, I have been educated by the citizens of Liberty County every day when interacting with you as a fellow neighbor. I hear your concerns about the desire for educational innovation, consistent communication, and financial information. I am committed to bringing my experiences to the Liberty County Board of Education as Chairperson to impact four key areas in the next four years.
